Wyldwood Radio’s Statement on Streaming and Solidarity with Ukraine

Dear Wyld Folk,
On 1st March 2025, we stopped streaming in Russia and the US in response to the pro-Putin attack on Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy by Donald Trump and J.D. Vance. This decision was not permanent. We will reverse it if the US restored aid to Ukraine, or if Russia declared a lasting peace with Ukrainian sovereignty intact and protected.
Since then, we’ve received both support and criticism, as expected. One listener pointed out that Ukrainian refugees in the US may be affected by our decision. We’ve reflected deeply on this and want to clarify our stance.
Team Wyldwood is entirely neurodivergent, with LGBTQIA+ members and a Ukrainian refugee. The later had to flee their home three years ago, and for whom it is unsafe to return.
We take human rights, war crimes, and injustice very seriously, as we do environmental and animal rights. Some of us actively support Amnesty International, Survival International, and other global charities. The current state of the world; far-right growth, Russian interference, and ongoing conflict; causes us deep concern, and we will continue to act with integrity.
We acknowledge that refugees worldwide need support, and we want to help as much as possible. However, reinstating our US stream right now would contradict our message of solidarity with Ukraine. We made the initial decision to support President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian people, who are now suffering even more due to the removal of US aid.
For now, we will not reinstate the stream in either country but will continue to monitor the situation. We understand some listeners may be disappointed, but we must stand by our values.
